Downtown Torrance – Centennial Parade Application

Parade Date: September 16, 2012     Applications Due:  August 16, 2012

The City of Torrance invites you to participate in the Downtown Torrance Centennial Parade! This community event is an exciting way to celebrate the past, present, and future of Torrance, California.

The parade will be a walking event, and it open to the public.  For the safety of participants and the public, no skateboards, scooters, bicycles, animals or motorized vehicles will be allowed on the parade route.

Check-in for the parade will begin at 10:30 a.m., with staging at 11:00 a.m.  The parade will begin at 12:00 p.m., on Post Avenue, south of Cravens.

The parade route is as follows: north on Post to Sartori, east to Marcelina, south to Cravens, and then north on Cravens to end at El Prado Park.  The parade will lead participants and the public to the new Torrance Centennial Plaza, within El Prado Park, for a dedication event at 2:00 p.m.

Each participating group may carry one banner to identify themselves.  It is suggested that the banner size will be 3 by 6 feet, and have a pole or a rigid piece along the top to make it easier to carry along the parade route.
